Summer? Have you seen it?

I need to find a new place to live. School is out for summer vacation I thought it was...well.. summer, yet the gray clouds and rain show different. You know how difficult it is to barbecue when a downpour could happen at any second? Craziness.

Good news!

My book is now also available in hardcover. So exciting.

And...my son made All-Stars Baseball again this year! So proud of my kiddo. Practice almost every day straight for the next month -- 3 hours a day -- then its tournament time.

I re-finished my wooden patio set my ex husband had got me for mother's day a while back. Now being weathered from the rain, I had been thinking about getting rid of it and just getting a new one, but my friend Andrea talked me out of it, saying it was too nice get rid of ( it then cost over $600.)  So, a couple weeks ago, I got out the electiric sander, sanded it real good and stained it a goregous cherry. You know what? I discovered I really enjoyed it. There's just something about standing back, looking at your finished work and saying, "I did that!"

How the set looked before...

And after...

Last weekend a friend of mine, Denise, and I made 5 batches of Kahlua. She'd saved empty bottles of liquar for our home brewing adventure and let me let you, if you'd have walked in, you'd think there was a party happening. lol.  Anyway, boy, did our Kahula turn out good. Taste tested each batch, and approved!! We figured we made at least $260.00 + worth of Kahlua. In all, it only cost us $40.00 for vodka, roughly $15.00 for sugar and instant coffee, plus the pure vanilla she'd brought back from Mexico last November. I'm letting my bottles set for a while, but the pretty Boozey Floozey has already drank a bottle of hers with friends. lol.

My veggie and flower gardens are doing okay. And by that I mean, my puppy Foxy hasn't reliazed her tastebuds love everything. Oh, she's a great helper, let me let you. kinda like reverse helping. Everything I plant, she pulls up and pulls back to me. Like my zinnias! Oh, they looked so pretty after I got them in the ground. Next thing I knew, there's several 4 inch clumps of packed dirt and headless flowers on my living room rug. Needless to say, the remaining beauties now have a new home in the front yard. But...I've discovered pomerainans don't chomp marigolds (knock on wood). Lucky she's so damn cute! I've had to be creative, putting things in pots, and up high, and sprinkling veggies and flowers in the ground with ceyenne pepper. My String beans are growing by leaps and bounds. And this is the pup who learn right away to sit, dance, etc.

She's a copycat...

Monkey see...monkey do!

And she drives!

Men are just like puppies...

Mike decided to plant this shrub (we decided would go in the front yard) right where I'd planted my sunflowers, cosmos and zuchinni in the backyard. I got home from work, was watering and thought, "Why do the bleeding hearts look so extremely wide today...? He later told me he thought that was a nice spot (for a shrub that only colors in the fall) and didn't reliaze I'd planted anything there. What, the 10 inch tall seedlings didn't give him a clue!? Duh, I've planted sunflowers and cosmos there for like 4 years now. Men.

Toodles!

Tuesday at the Portland Zoo...

Pulled the kiddies out early from school today to take them to the zoo and everyone and their brother was there! Seriously. No parking available within a 2 mile radios and had to park at the top and hike down. Lucky for us, just as we finally made it to parking area, school buses were loading up zillions of  kindergartners.

You have no idea how long it took me to get this picture of both of them. This was just before we hopped on the train. Brandon sat in the same seat that the then Senator JFK sat in in 1962. At the time we didn't know it. How cool is that?

Farmer Tan Has Begun

Ahh, warm weather. Who can complain? Certainly not some schomoe who endured 2 weeks of being snowed in this winter with the 18 inches +  we endured. Yup, that was pretty harsh for our area. Even Christmas Eve when many of us silently fretted about ever finally getting our shopping list done. But we trooped through it -- snow plows and all. So this weekend was very welcome.

Yesterday, Brandon's team had a double header just past Steven, Wa., which is along the beautiful Columbia Gorge, and about an hour drive from us.

Can I Stow Away, Please?

In case you were wondering, no I didn't relocate to a deserted island. Though on some crazy days, that does sound fabulous. Cool drinks, palm trees and sexy cabana boys...

My daughter Cassidy recently returned from the Hawaiian island of Maui where she spent a lovely 10 days with her bf Caia and her parents. The girls had a blast and Cass took a zillion pictures. I'll post a few soon. In the meantime, here's a picture of palm trees she took, via her camara phone...

We recently added a new addition to our family: a chocolate Pomeranian we named Foxy. She's a wild one and so much fun. Oddly, her and Spice get along famously. Sugar, however, wants nothing to do with her and stears clear. But Foxy has other plans and will chase poor Sugar down and lay on him, trying to get him to play. Yeah, that always works with males. LOL.

Cassidy & the Foxy one

I'll catch up more soon.

Seether And Our Road Trip to Idaho!

The trip was long, like 5 hours, but so worth it. We were driving to see Seether and 7 other bands play at Greyhound Park in Post Falls, Idaho, making it my 3rd time seeing Seether live this year. (Tisa has officially named me her favorite Seether stalker...LOL)

We left Vancouver, Wa at 8:00 am, arriving in Spokane around 1:00ish, where we had lunch at Longhorne Barbecue. A fun place with an Old West theme and great food. Then it was off to Post Falls, which is only a fistful of miles away.

Arriving to our hotel, check-in time wasn't til 3:00pm, and the concert doors opened at 3:30, so we headed over to Couer 'D Alane where we drove around, taking in the sites downtown. What is that huge feather? I need to know. Anyone?

Sometime later, and after checking into hotel, finally, we arrive to Greyhound Park, which is down the street from our hotel. (Our hotel clerk mentioned that some band members were staying at our hotel -- or 'hair boys' as she called them.) After going through VIP check-in at the Park, meeting and talking with some nice people, we head inside. It's huge, of course, cuz it's a Greyhound race park. We head to one of many bars, grab a drink and check out the park. Way cool with 2 stages. Then a nice lady gives me a VIP pass. Yeah, baby.

Me at the park

Since we had VIP seating to begin with, we were right next to the left stage where band members would walk around. First up to play was 'London Get Down.' A great up-and -coming band from Spokane. I met the singer -- a nice guy -- and got an autographed CD.

Next bands to play were Tantric, In This Moment and Sick Puppies. Got lots of photos and videos. It's also great to see females out there, like Emma Anzai from Sick Puppies shredding it up on bass, and frontwoman Maria Brink from In This Moment belting those lungs. After their sets, Maria was walking around and taking pictures of her and fans. I also met family members of one of the bands and chatted with them a while. Sick Puppies were by us between sets.

Shim and Emma from Sick Puppies

Maria and Chris from In This Moment

By this time, since there was a bar and catering in our section, I'm like 3 margaritas, 1 red bull and vodka and 5 bud lights ready. Red and Hurt play. I'd seen them back in December when Seether played at the Hawthorne in Portland, Oregon. Honestly, bald guys scare me, so I wasn't to into them so much. Sorry, no offense.

Sevendust is the second to the last band to play and they rocked. It was on the last link of daylight when they finished playing. And like 45 minutes later, finally...

Seether hit the stage. I was right there on the left... up close. I have no idea what their first song was -- all I can remember is them coming on and Shaun Morgan playing his guiter and singing and the crowd going wild, and me being in the moment with my favorite band playing. They played my favorite songs, Fake It, Remedy, and others. But this time not FMLYHM or No Jesus Christ. They play a differnent line-up, what-ever they feel like playing. This time, luckily, there was no mosh pit. Just evertyone having a fun, great time! Shaun Morgan was looking way cute, as always!! Though he's lost weight since I'd seen them play in Seattle back in April. No wonder when they play as hard as they do.

Seether

And would'nt you know it, my digital camara batteries died during Seether. BUT, I did get camara phone shots and video. And -- great memories!!

Check out my pictures and videos from this awesome rock show (at my MySpace page). It was an amazing time! I can't wait to see Seether again.

Bigfoot Sighting

I admit it, I am fascinated with Bigfoot. Always have
been. So, today when I opened my Yahoo homepage
and saw 'Bigfoot Evidence Revealed' I couldn't help
but click on the link. I read it...then LMAO. Body in
freezer, huh? Isn't 'Bigfoot' like 7 feet tall and 700
pounds. Too big for most freezers of any kind. And
these guys found Bigfoot all the way in Georgia? Whoa,
that's some walking all the way from the Pacific Northwest.

Here, I must say, I don't really believe there is a Bigfoot. Although I truly love the myth. I'll tell you why: The first Bigfoot 'sighting' was reported in the 1880's, or sometime around there. Certainly -- and I am no ape expert -- but I don't believe they live over 100 years. I could be wrong. And, it's always only one Bigfoot or Sasquatch in those grainy pictures. In theory, wouldn't Bigfoot get lonely? If he/she evolved from, say, apes, wouldn't there be more than one, like a family? Or at least a friend to pal around with?

An article I read in a magazine I'd purchased a few years back from an antique store, states that sometime during the 1960's a movie company paid some guy to dress in a hairy half man/half ape suit. Of course this stirred a lot of media attention back then, with many 'Bigfoot' sightings in the Pacific Northwest. Brilliant idea if you ask me! (Think of the Blair Witch Project -- as to getting attention in the media.)

When I was a kid we lived in Amboy, WA and a neighbor guy told my mom that back in the 60's, he periodically would put on an 'ape suit' and walk around in the neighboring Gifford Pinchot National Forest for fun and people thought he was Bigfoot. Although I don't know for sure if that is actually true, I remember thinking what a great hoax. All in good fun and nobody was hurt.

In the past years, sightings have been 'documented' with Bigfoot all over the USA. Hello, this is a HUGE beast. How could it travel across the states without being noticed while gallivanting around? And wouldn't it get hungry? Bears go into campsites for food, for goodness sakes. Most of the documents and such that have been sent to experts with DNA samples come back as not credible. Hmm. If I happened upon 'Bigfoot' you better believe I'd make certain my film wasn't grainy and its DNA wasn't from a opossum, or whatever. I also wouldn't keep it from researchers for months. That's just selfish.

The famous Patterson-Gimlin film from 1967:

I say, keep the myth alive. It's harmless, fun and fascinating. I do love those beef jerky commercials with Bigfoot. What a hoot!

I'd also love a Bigfoot movie.

My man and I went to Bigfoot's Pub & Grub in Seaside, Oregon. Super cute!!

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!

Just Another Frantic Monday

I don't know about you, but some days I wake up and think "OMG! I have so much to do. Summer is half over and I have a looong list." Though I've been told I'm very organized -- it's my Type A personality, thank you very much -- I must multi-task. I can't be idle at all and work best under pressure.

So...today as I head to the kitchen for a cool drink, I glance at Spice lounging on my counter, free as you please, while giving me a look that says "What? I was out there guarding the neighborhood, now, I'm resting!" I can't help but think the grand life cat's have. Drink in hand, I shoo him down and head back to my desk to settle in to write...

And then...

Seemingly out of nowhere, Spice and Sugar came tearing through the room like their tails are on fire and Spice flies onto my desk, paws splayed. The big lug collides with my glass, knocking it over. It's like slow motion watching liquid go everywhere around my computer and keyboard. Noooo. All I could think of was my files, and everything I was just working on.

I franticly move the keyboard and monitor and sop up the mess. Two towels later, I see the big lug leisurely lying in front of the fridge, on his back, paws up like he hadn't a care in the world.

If I didn't love him so much, I'd sell him to a band of gypsies.

Day After Crue Fest!

I'm back! Andrea and I had a fabulous time! It was old skool Motley Crue and they packed the Rose Garden. Just wished they'd played 'Smokin' in the boys room.' Oh well. Since I've not ever seen BuckCherry in concert, it was fun seeing them live. The whole nite was wild and I got tons of videos of the bands. I hear Papa Roach did an interview with KUFO outside, like two hours before the show started, so we missed that. But hey, last time I saw Papa Roach in concert I had front row (I went through the mosh pit to get there to see Jacoby up close...hehehe) I woke up sore as heck this morning, and Andrea, who'd slept on my couch was gone by Sixx am....haha get it? But seriously she was.

Andrea and me before the show!

Later this afternoon, my kiddies and I went to the Clark County Fair and had a super fun time. The Wild, Wild West exhibit was great. We walked through the town with the saloon, general store, bathhouse, jail and then on over to the stage show. Brandon was really into the tricks the cowboy did with his guns and rope. He had the coolest horse named Lucky Joe, who counted with his hoof, got on a pedestal, and laid down on his back, legs up. Ever see a horse do that? Me neither. Wish I'd gotten more pictures of that. I skirted right past the reptiles. I freak at those things. After eatin' good fair food, gettin' tatooed and more fun, we headed over to the grandstand to see the monster trucks.

And On the 8th Day....

How cool is that? 8/8/08. So, the buzz is Clay Aikens and his 50-year old bff welcomed their baby boy today at 8:08am. Was that a planned timing?

Tisa's daughter has this super cool job as a cultural ambassador. Currently, she has a group of Chinese students, whom she adores. I love Chinese food and asked Tisa if the girls could send me some authentic recipes, and the other day I received a recipe for 'Chinese Tea Eggs.'  I've been trying to master it, and the hardest part -- for me anyway -- is cracking the eggs shells just right to later give them that 'marbled effect.' Also, it took me forever and a day to locate Chinese 5 Spice powder -- which, btw, can be found in most grocers Asian section. For my first attempt, I had to gather the 5 ingredients. After simmering and cooling, the eggs didn't have the pretty marbled look shown in the attached photo. So...I went out and purchased 5 dozen eggs. I'm gonna get this, even if it takes me 60 eggs. '-)

In the meantime, any helpful hints anyone can send me would be most welcome.E-mail them to me.

My own unSunset Tan episode. Last weekend I thought I'd give my backside the matching frontside tan it desires and went to a tanning salon. (Yeah, yeah, I know...) Holy smokes, Batman. The bulbs must've been brand spanking new because it gave me these 2 strip tan lines on my back, like I tanned through a picket fence. Yikes. Good thing is, every day the stripes (burn) fade. Whew!

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!

Toodles

Mug my mom got me. Cute huh?

The Catch Up...

OK, the weather here in Vancouver is officially coo-coo! Cloudy out right now, as was yesterday. Monday it was like 98 degrees and while my son and a friend were at Wild Waves near Seattle us girls spent the day at the river playing and having tons of fun! I'm working on my tan and envious of people who live by the beach and have the ocean and sand for their backyard.

Me and Cass luvin' the rays from the sun

Sunday, the kiddies and I are going to the county fair. My man is in Cali right now working. I playfully told him if he comes back any tanner, I'll know he went there to play on all the golf courses he can find. lol. Anyway, both kiddies have already gone to the fair on separate days with friends. But as a family we never miss our tradition of going. And besides, this is the fair's 140th year. Can you imagine? Makes me wonder what it was like way back then. Folks entering their apple pies? Log rolling contests? Best livestock? This year, the feature exhibit is 'How The West Was Fun.' The wild, wild west. I'm looking forward to stopping by the Sarsaparilla Saloon, mingling with friends and catching up on the going-ons in town.  Where you goin' with all that root beer, pard?

Let's see, what else is new. One of my bff's Andrea and I went out last Friday. We always have a blast. Course, then we got this wild idea to go shopping. I got the cutest Jimmy Choo purse. Oh, and speaking of purses, I have a new fave website: The Purse Blog fun stuff there!

2 days til Andrea and I will be at Crue Fest.

And another countdown...

14 days til my man and I hit the road for Idaho to see Seether, baby! And for those taking count, this will be our 3rd time seeing them. In 3 different states. This time we have VIP seats. Tisa has officially renamed me her favorite 'Seether Stalker'  cuz I have a mad crush on Shaun Morgan. LOL. I call this road trip my newest research for my book 'Cinderella's Got A Crush On The Rock Star.'   '-) My favorite band, ya know. And now Tisa's new fave band, too.

Okay, and now onto:

Useless fact of the day

( * warning: 18 years or older, please) The other day while some people and I were talking, we got on the subject of previous jobs. It's always interesting to learn what people have done in their lives. So this one particular gal told us how she very briefly worked at a ahem...porn shop, and that the biggest selling item there was 'midget transsexual' porn. Okay, so I tried to get a mental image, then quickly shook it away. Just for curiosity, thought I'd look it up on the Internet, but don't want that on my hard drive. Anyway, the main purchasers of this kind stuff was men in business suits. The things we learn, huh? So yesterday, one of the people who was chatting with us came up to me and told me he'd looked it up on the Internet and read that that kind of porn has over 130,000 + places to purchase it. OMG! What a crazy freakin' world we live in.

Yep, I warned ya, useless fact of the day. lol

Off to get ready for the day. And wouldn't you know it, here comes the sun...just in time for me to go to work! Ah, well...

Guess Where I'm Calling You From?

Goodness, look at what I found recently while out in the country when I pulled over for a little minute. ROTFL. Now that's a blast from the past. Hahaha!!!!

And then to snap me back to '08, so there I am inside a big ole grocery store, walking around with the noisey chitter-chatter of people, and other noises and I didn't hear my cell phone's ring tone go off from inside my purse. Apparently some guy walking by me did though, when he said to me, "Hey, your purse is saying something about a crazy bitch..."  We both got a good laugh over that. (I'd just changed my ring tone to BuckCherry's Crazy Bitch the day before.)

                    Birthday Wishes Shout Out:

Why Do Vacations Go So Fast?

We're back! Our getaway at McMenamins Grand Lodge in Forest Grove, oregon was fabulous! We've been there before for dinner, so it was super cool staying there. Our King Suite -- Walker Bros. --  was absolutely gorgeous. The Lodge was built in 1922, so the architecture is from the Victorian era. Not all the rooms have their own private bath, but ours did. Yeah! Our suite had a living room, bath, fireplace, romantic bedroom setting and beautiful stenciling throughout. It also overlooked the grounds of this comely place. After dinner at the Ironwork Grill-- where I tried the catch of the day, catfish! Never had before...but Yum! --  we headed out to the grounds, where you can take your drinks with you. I love their Ruby micro. Very light. Anyway, out on the grounds we strolled along the chrildren's Cottage, willow trees, coneflowers, daisies and other breathtaking flowers, while live music adored the air from the Yardhouse Pub. Very romantic!

Our room was on the second floor. You can see it from the pictures -- it's the rooms behind the pillars.

The Grand Lodge inspired me for a future historical romance. I already have the plot mapped out.

And here we have photos. Be sure to check out the rest our photos I've uploaded to my scrapbook.

How's My Writing Going?

Finished 6th reading.

Now onto the 7th. And final. Yay!

Read somewhere on the internet today the odds off winning a single state lottery is 1 in about 18 milion.

The odds of writing a New York Times best seller: 1 in 220

Hmmm.

Welcome To Wednesday And That Whole thing!

Things I learned today:

Always check cash before handing it over taxi driver just to make sure you don't accidently give $9.00 tip instead of $3.00 (for 6 mile ride.)

Small take home pet carriers from pet stores aren't only for hamsters or birds. They also hold snakes.

Ahhh, well. On the flip side:

22 days til CrueFest.          Papa Roach, Hinder, BuckCherry, Trapt and of course Motley Crue all under one roof. Yeah, baby.

Random picture I took. For some reason I love this picture!

On the writing front, I'm almost done with edits. Wheee. I've also been working out a plot for a book I promised my daughter Cassidy.

One of my friends, Robin, recently broke her toe. Oooh, I sympathize with her. Just before I sold How To Lasso A Cowboy, a week before I'd broke my toe. Hurt like hell trying to drive a clutch, too.

If You Build It, They Will Come

All-Stars is over. I am so proud of my son making the team. They did really great and pulled together as a team. Practices were hard and long each night. at the games, the team did awesome!. Their 1st game they played in 108 degrees weather. Brandon pitched and played left field. It is also the end of Evergreen Little League Field. After 50 plus years, they are moving the baseball field. Already things are coming down: the score board, the ballpark lights, building -- the end of an era. But, soon the new field will be complete, with a brick walkway in front of consession stand. And -- past and present basball players can become a part of history with their names engraved. Of course, proud mama will be buying a brick for Brandon. :-)

Here is Brandon at game 1 of All-Stars, and him standing on the score board which has been at his field for years:

But the weekend is over?

Sorry. I've been MIA. Deep in the editing cave and trying to squeeze in all my free time. It's becoming a love/hate relationship. Ha!  Summer  = crazybusy! Then there was baseball games and All-Stars. One of my longest and dearest friends - Tisa - came to visit. She and her family moved away a few years back. < Pout >  We had super fun catching up.

My truck blew a head gasket. Blah. So borrowed my mom's 2 seater sports car. Varooom!. Though not quite the practical car with 2 kiddies. "All right, kid-o's, decide amongst yourselves whose gonna go to the river." Haha!

Saturday my man I went downtown to the Saturday Market at Ester Short park. A fun place which oddly resembles the fair with all its food, vendors and such. Got some great produce (I like supporting our local farmers) and flowers. Later worked in my flowerbeds and then sipped crantinis on the patio by the glow of lanterns and stars.

Over the weekend, my son and I had a 3 day monopoly tournament. In the end, he owned all the property and had all the banks money. That kid should be an investor!

Next week, me and my man are taking a romantic getaway at McMenamins Grand Lodge, in Forest Grove, Oregon.

Next week we shall be here:

Built in 1922 as a Masonic home. Now a lodge.

This is next to the lodge. Childrens Cottage

Wheee! Check my new contest.

Have a fabulous day!  :)

Take Me Out To The Ball Game...

Yesterday, my lil slugger and his baseball team got to hang out with the Portland Beavers before the ball game vs. the New Orleans Zephyrs. They had their pictures taken, chatted, and each went out on the field with a ball player during the National Anthem. How exciting for these lil guys! Brandon was so stoked. When I asked him how him it felt, he replied, "Great! But I wanted to hang out with the pitcher more." You see, Brandon is pitcher and 3rd base for his team. During the game, my lil guy was watching the game, glued to the bench, wearing his glove while hoping to catch a ball. He also got the meet the Beaver's mascot, pressing knuckles, which in 11-year-old year old language is way cool. Even I wanted to meet that fun mascot!!!

Going with my son to his first professional ball game was a blast. Later, when I asked him what ball player he went out on the field with, Brandon said, "Right field." My reply, "What was his name? Brandon: "Right field." Boys. It's the love of the game!!    gggg

Brandon at PGE Ballpark

Saturday's 5/03/08   A Miner game:

The Yankee's win. Brandon and his team did SUPER awesome!!! 1 Homerun and a triple.  Way to go!!!!!!!

Little Lies

Recently, while doing research for my chick-lit book, it got me thinking about lies people tell. You know, stretching of the truth, social lies or little white lies. And dirty lies. It also got me wondering why people lie.

Maybe people do it without even meaning to. Or do they?

For example, with the wondrous invention of water bras, lesser endowed women can fudge about their...ahem...assests.  Sorry. This makes me giggle. Imagine the poor guy dating her, and they decide to take their relationship to the next level and he finds out this woman who was a voluptuous size C cup at dinner is really owning a size A. Does faking it, fall under the category of lying? Or, when a person wants to get out of a social event says: "I'm tired and think I'll stay in tonight and catch up on my sleep." Then a co-worker sees that person tearing up the dance floor at a local club later that night. These are white lies. Kinda like one about their age, or weight.

I once knew a woman who worked in an office at my then place of employment. For four months, she had lovely straight, shoulder length hair. Then one day she came to work and had long wavy waist length hair. When I said,  "I like your hair. What did you do to it?" she replied, "Oh, I just got a perm..." Right. I wanted to say: Wow a magic perm that stretches the hair ten inches! Incredible. But I didn't. I was socially polite.

But it's not just women who stretch stuff. Men lie too. I.e  the guy you met tells you, "I work out every day." Only to later find out the only six-pack he has is the one is his fridge.

I wonder if people lie to make themselves appear better, or portray what they have or do not have. As a writer, I can build up a character in my books, making them into who ever I want. So I wonder if a social lie is  kinda like that? Building up your own inner self for the outside world to view? Almost like fictional portrayal. Or, do some people lie just for the plain ole thrill of it. Like a married person who goes to dating web-sites stating their single and corressonding with people of the opposite sex, and hiding the e-mails from their spouse.

Do we as humans, lie to protect someone's feelings? When a friend, or co-worker gets a bad haircut, should we tell them? or "No, those jeans look great on you..."  when really they make the person look like a pineapple.

Do people lie to get themselves out of hot water ( i.e  "That wasn't me you saw with so-and-so. I was working late."  But doesn't lying and cheating go hand in hand? I think so.

Then there are the people who lie to spread gossip. Dirty lies. Do they do it because they themselves have low self-esteem? Does it stem from jealousy?

Still, some people lie even when the truth will get them out of trouble. Maybe it's the human factor. Like lying in declaration letters to the court to make themselves appear the innocent party.

Then there are the pathological liars who lie about everything. If it's dry and sunny outside, they'll say it's raining. Who knows were this comes from. Learned behavior perhaps. Some people get so good at lying. Could it be they practice their mannerisms and eye contact in a mirror? Perhaps. Course, these people have to have an excellent memory, I believe, keeping all those lies straight.

And kids, they learn from adults actions, and that lying gets you out of trouble. If you didn't actually see them do it, they can't be blamed, right?  "I didn't break the lamp, it fell on it's own." Yes, the ghost in the house did it. (This goes for adults who practice this belief as well: I didn't do it, therefore you can't blame me.)

Lies can effect people for the rest of their lives. Not only do they hurt people, they break trust. Lies show and teach bad examples. And so, perhaps there will never be a straight answer to the one question:

Why lie?

Look Whose Yakkin' again...

I have lots to say. Still waiting to hear back on book proposal. Hate waiting. BUT, did work 3 hours yesterday to get another blurb just right. Always a plus.

Mike and I are back from Seattle. Had a super time. The Seether concert was CrAzYwild and freakin' fun! The 'little club' turned out to hold over 1,200 people. We were 4th row center when they came out...in the dark...playing! Hot!  I was video taping with the crowd going crazy for them. So worth it, though!! They're one of my fave bands. I evenually had to move back a bit -- cuz of moshers. I'm not into that at all.

Check out Seether live in Seattle, song: Driven Under

Cassidy enjoyed the show too. It was her first rock concert. Gotta bring my kiddies up right, as rockers. lol.

Andrea got mine and hers Crue Fest tix this week for 8/9/08. Woo-hoo.  Motley Crue, Papa Roach, BuckCherry, Trapt, Six am.  Papa Roach twice in a year. Seether, same. Man, I feel like a groupie. lol (I love BuckCherry's song 'Blacked out in Brooklyn'. If I ever have another daughter, I'm naming her Brooklyn.)

The weather here has been all over the board. Hail, snow, downpours, sun breaks. Today is beautiful out, though. Hope it stays this way through the weekend. My son has 2 baseball games tomorrow, and he's pitching. Last Saturday it snowed in the morning before his game and it was freezing!!!!

I can't wait until the lilacs bloom. I love the smell of them and bringing blossoms into the house. I also have a secret place I go to and pick huge bouquets.

Are you my friend on MySpace? I have other stuff there on that blog that you won't see here on my official Web-site blog. Curious now?

Also, all you Seether fans, I have another live video with their opening song, No Jesus Christ, at my MySpace page.

Fresh & Fabulous!

That is how I feel after being on vacation the past eight days. I got everything done that I wanted, and, at my secret place got TONS of writing done. It was the best! I swear I should do this every 8 weeks or so. Oooo, wouldn't that be nice. Recharge. Holed away! My friends all kept me entertained with their texts, e-mails and voice mails. Robin's especially, with her, "What? Now that you're on vacation you're too lazy to answer the phone...?" lol.  And then there were the calls when I was put on speaker phone.... < ggggg > Girlfriends. Gotta love 'em.

It's also Spring Break here and the first day it SNOWED. Crazy weather. I'd planned on planting flowers in my yard, but kinda felt weird gardening with snowflakes falling.

Just before I went on vacation my hard drive died. Yes, as you can imagine I was freaking. This computer is only 5 months old. But Dell was great and had a computer guy sent out 2 days later. Thank you Dell and computer guy! He even gave me a wire to run my old hard drive to the new one. Bless you! It's kinda -- no really nerve wracking -- when your a writer and computer stuff happens. Luckily, I always backup three ways from Sunday. I was most concerned about the pictures, because you can never replace those. OK, so I still have like 1,500 copies on my digital camera. But still.

The first day of my vacation I did tons of canning. Strawberry jam and pickled green beans. They make the best stir sticks for bloody Marys. Yum! To grab the recipes, go here at my recipes page.

9 days til we go to Seattle for...Ohmygosh...Seether!!!! Yes! I got the tickets in February before they went on sale to the public. Can you say excited?! It's at a little club, which, if you've been following my blog, know that is the best way to see rock bands. I'm also taking Cassidy so she can see her first rock band. Oh, she tries to not act excited and shrugs it off. But I know deep down she is excited. For goodness, "Fake it" is on her iPod.

Alright. Tomorrow back to reality. And next Saturday our store closes it's doors forever at midnight. Our new store opens on Monday. I won't be there.  I'll be in Seattle! Super talented rockin' band vs. Grand opening. Hmmm. Tough choice. Not.  lolololol

P.S. Still waiting to hear back from my editor.
