Heard it Live and it Rocked!!!
So, for those who have been following our Tool/Seether road trip, we made it! And it kicked ass!!! Tool and Seether are so very different from one another. And boy, was both awesome!!! Tool had fantastic visual effects with Maynard part of it. The drive to Spokane was gorgeous. I took tons of pictures...like over 75. We saw snow, rain, and blue skies, visited cute little towns and stood in awe at Multnomah Falls. Back in Portland, Saturday night Seether played at Hawthorne Theatre. I totally love shows like that -- small, intimate and rockin'. Was so close, could see the color of hot Shaun Morgans eyes. And yep, got to hear 'Remedy' and 'Fake it.' That man is the stud of rock music and guiter!
Visa Priceless Weekend Moment:
- Mike having to leave vehicle and fly home from Seattle.
- Renting Toyota 4 Runner.
- Traveling the gorgeous Gorge with my man.
- Being with hotel guest of the day (yep, that's my man!)
- Forgetting favorite hairsprayy back home.
- Standing 45 minutes outside in frigid weather to see Tool.
- Seeing Maynard live. And, killer laser light show.
- Mike getting speeding ticket.(Shhh...it's a secret...hahaha)
- McDonalds french fries and Big & Tastey. Twice. YUM!
- Buying new rockin' sunglasses.
- 12 hours travel time...alone...with my man.
- Snow.
- Seeing red sticker on nose of deer that someone stuck on
'Deer Crossing' sign.
- Discovering new charming cafe in Hawthorne distict.
- Seeing super talented Shaun Morgan rip on guiter & hear him
sing. (He has waaayy cool hair!!)
- Having a banned from US Figure Skating/turned boxer stand in
front of me at concert, swishing her 1984 permed mop.
- Having to get up at 4:00a.m. Monday to take Mike to airport
so he can get his vehicle in Seattle and drive 3 hours home.
Our weekend alone together: Priceless
Had so much fun, I'm already planning our next road trip. Which just may be Feb 2, 2008. Mike called me on my cell other day, "What are you doing February 2?" Me: "Uhhh, dunno. Why?" Mike: "Just got us tickets to see 'Puddle of Mud' in Seattle." All the while I'm thinking: 'Okay, cool. But I was planning to surprise *you* with tickets on that day to see Seether (again)... in Vancouver, B.C. Canada.'
My screen capture of Shaun Morgan. It's way cool, yes? I
have no idea how I did it. But I LOVE the effect!!
All right. Back to reality. So, who is all ready for Christmas? As for me, got a few more (okay like a dozen or eighteen or so) presents to buy, wrapping to do, more baking, build gingerbread house with kiddies. But I did get my Christmas cards out today and made fudge. People who are are ALL ready just plain annoy me. Who is that organized. LOL. Okay, so I *used* to be like that. Our Christmas tree is beautiful. It's a noble. I love those! Reminds me of my grandparents Christmas tree each year. And Thursday were taking the kiddies to Queen Anne Victorian Mansion and PIR racetrack to see all the cool lights and displays. Holiday traditions.
I bought The Holiday dvd and watched it with Cass and Brandon last week. Love that movie. Saw it at the theatre last December with my man. It's one of my faves. And of course, Christmas isn't Christmas without The Grinch,or A season for Giving. Or the I Love Lucy episode with them decorating the tree and Santy Clause.
Spice is not very into the holiday spirit. I put a red bow on him and what did that miniature beastly lion do? 2 minutes later he bite me...on the nose. And no, it wasn't a love bite. I'm seriously thinking no cat-bed Christmas gift for him. hahaha. I'm quessing he was not pleased with his brother Sugar teasing him. But, he DOES look quite handsome.
Spice will only drink from the faucet. I don't know what he does all day when nobody's home
Spice's new cat bed. hahaha
My favorite Hoilday season coffee:
Candy Cane flavored coffee
Peppermint Mocha coffee cream
A candy cane to stir it.
Yum-yum!!

My, how times have changed
In the in 19teens, young men ran for blocks hoping to get a glimpse of my young great-grandma's ankles, should the breeze catch her dress as she rode in the carriage, while holding her parasol. Shift backward 25 years: late 1800's respectable modern women wore petticoats under their dresses, hid their delicate ankles, and cinched their waists with corsets...
Late 1800's fashion
Today's 21st century women...
Kate Moss 2007
My, how times have changed. I love this ultra chic, sexy look. And you don't need a fainting couch from all those layers of clothes. Course, I love my 'swooning' couch...and laying on it, wearing my skinny jeans...
Everything old is new again. I lovelovelove these Late 1800's button-up boots. Sooo romantic. I had a pair similar to these some years ago when they were in style then, too, worn with leggings and baby doll tops.
.::Flooding here in Washington State::.
With 1-5 closed and Mike on business in Seattle, our weekend getaway plans have shifted. I feel so bad for the people and towns suffering from the flooding. It's truly devastating! Thursday afternoon Mike is temperarily leaving his vehicle and catching a flight to Portland. Early Friday morning, were hopping in rental SUV and driving up along the Columbia Gorge to Spokane for Tool rock concert. 6 hours away. Fingers crossed no raising of river, or snow. I've already warned my work I may not be back. But with Seether concert next day in Portland, good god, I'll stow away in a trunk on a train if I have to. Gotta hear "Remedy" live, baby!
Stay tuned...
